Egon is almost the exact opposite of Peter: He lacks a universal sense of humor and isn't interested in publicity, instead focusing on the scientific aspect of the work. He also designed the equipment with Ray Stantz. But he's by no means the crazy researcher you'd initially think of when you hear that description. In many respects, he makes the decisions, moves in the world of science with the confidence of a luminary, and only becomes defensive when Janine makes advances. Like so many geniuses, Egon is so busy and absorbed in research that he neither notices nor understands much of "real life."
