Kazuma Tetsu is a technomancer—one of the rare individuals who can influence the Matrix solely with the power of their thoughts. But he's on a very mundane mission: his sister is missing. The search for her leads him into a complex network of corporate executives, mercenaries, and shady characters. But as he digs deeper, he uncovers something that could plunge the entire world into chaos: an artificial intelligence wants to use the resonance chambers in the Matrix to access a higher level of consciousness. To do this, dissonant technomancers are supposed to open a matrix rift, which will lead to a global catastrophe. Only a few regulars at the famous JackPoints can perhaps prevent this doom.
