Akira is one of the main characters in the manga of the same name. He was selected to participate in a project and thus became a "Child of the 20s" (children with particularly strong abilities). During the project, Akira destroys Tokyo, after which he is sent into cryogenic sleep. He is awakened by Tetsuo, and ultimately Akira is forced to destroy Tetsuo because he no longer has control over his powers, resulting in their deaths.
